The Egg Yolk Face Mask Natural Acne Remedy

Ok, this post may make you think I’ve lost my mind or something, but hear me out and give it a try and the results may just surprise you. Actually, it comes with a nice story as well, so enjoy! What am I rambling on about? The “egg yolk face mask” which happens to be my favorite natural acne remedy.
Years ago before I found treatments like Acnezine and before I could convince my parents to take me to a dermatologist, I was struggling with a moderate case of acne and trying my best to find something - anything - to make it stop.
I tried just about every remedy in the drugstore only to find out that I was horribly allergic to many of them thanks to sensitive skin. Yeah, nothing like trying to make acne go away only to have a swollen red itchy rash in it’s place. Super fantastic.
So, frustrated I went seeking every natural remedy for acne I could find. I even scouted out my neighbors basement for their old books and such on natural remedies. I tried a lot of them, and will tell you more in future posts. Eventually, I stumbled on the most effective natural remedy for acne that I have yet to try. Best of all, I’d be willing to bet that the sole ingredient is lurking in your refrigerator right now…
Egg yolk. Yeah, really. In this old musty book, I read about using egg yolk as a face mask so I figured, what the heck and went for it. It helped that I had a dozen ducks laying eggs every day so eggs were definitely plentiful around my place (I grew up on a “farmette”). Dont worry tho if you don’t happen to have ducks on hand, it works just as well with the chicken eggs you buy at the store.
Here’s how it works… grab an egg and separate the yolk from the clear part. For our purposes, you only want the yolk. I drained the clear part in the sink and dumped the yolk in a bowl.
Next, you use your fingers and apply the egg yolk to your face like a mask. Cover the entire T-zone and all. Yeah, its kind of gross, but when you are as desperate as I was, who cares?
Once the yolk is on your face, let it dry and sit for about 15 - 20 minutes. It will get crusty and crackle a bit. Thats good.
After the time is up, use warm water and a washcloth to gently wash away the yolk. It can be hard to wipe off, but be patient. Next, clean your face with a gentle cleanser (like Noxzema) and follow up with your moisturizer.
Here’s the hard part - do this every day. Yup, every day. If you do this every day for at least a week, you will probably see some good results. I did. Granted, it’s best for preventing pimples and not so good for the deeper zits, but it does seem to work. Don’t ask me how, I don’t know - but it does. It worked better for me than any store bought mask I tried. And, it’s cheap and plentiful.
Ideally, you’d combine this with a full spectrum treatment like Acnezine, but if you cant get your hands on that then at least give this a shot. Let me know how this does for you
